    From the Tennis Court to the Courtroom

    Prior to his legal and political career, Seth Rose was a First Team All-America singles tennis player for the University of South Carolina. In his college career, Rose twice defeated the number one ranked NCAA singles player in the nation and advanced to the Round of 16 in the 2003 Div. I NCAA Men’s Singles Championships held in Athens, Georgia.

    He was inducted into the Gamecock Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014, recognizing his exceptional contributions to USC athletics. In 2024, Mr. Rose served as President of the USC Lettermen’s Association.

    The same competitive drive, discipline, and determination that made Seth successful on the tennis court now drives his relentless advocacy for his clients.

    As a former assistant solicitor for Richland County, he prosecuted various crimes including DUI, drug offenses, burglary, armed robbery, and even murder. This unique experience gives him invaluable insight into how prosecutors build their cases—and how to defeat them.

    Seth started his law practice and public service out of a desire to help people and to make his community a better place. Known for his trademark work ethic and responsiveness, he vows to respond to messages and inquiries immediately.

    A Legislator Who Gets Things Done

    In November 2018, Seth was elected to the State House of Representatives for South Carolina House District 72. He serves on the House Judiciary committee and has authored numerous bills signed into law.

    Expungement Reform

    Authored and passed legislation expanding expungement opportunities for youthful offenders, giving thousands of people a second chance at life.

    Mugshot Extortion Ban

    Led the effort to stop jail mugshots in Richland County from being posted in magazines and online websites that extort money from accused citizens.

    Conditional Discharge Program

    Created the ‘Conditional Discharge for Disorderly Conduct’ diversionary program, helping first-time offenders avoid criminal records.

    $5 Million Harden Street Project

    Secured funding for transformative infrastructure improvements on Harden Street, recognized by the 5 Points Merchants Association.

    Seth Rose has been a dedicated resident of House District 72 for over 25 years. He is married to Anna Cartin Rose and they have three children: Cole, Luke, and Tillie.

    Prior to serving in the S.C. State Legislature, Seth served his community on Richland County Council, representing District 5. Both State House District 72 and County Council District 5 include Five Points, the Vista, the USC campus, and the surrounding areas and neighborhoods.

    His office is located at the Historic Bond House at 1528 Blanding Street—a building on the National Register of Historic Homes that reflects his deep connection to Columbia’s heritage.
